“A harmonious and elegant red, this has the silkiness and fragrant anise-like fruit that has established aglianico as the Barolo of the south. Here, the volcanic soil lends the wine a profound depth, layering the brightness of that fruit with savory notes of mushrooms and dark tones of the earth. Paolo Mastroberardino makes this from 25 year old vines; the length of flavor and finesse suggest it has a long life ahead, though its greatness is already apparent, especially if decanted to serve with braised game.” -Joshua Greene

“Un rosso armonico ed elegante, bella setosità e frutto fragrante di anice che ha fatto considerare l'aglianico come il Barolo del Sud. Qui, il terreno vulcanico conferisce al vino notevole profondità, complessità che si esprime in una stratificazione di sensazioni; frutto vivo con note sapide di funghi e toni scuri della terra. Paolo Mastroberardino produce questo vino da vecchie vigne di 25 anni; la lunghezza del sapore e la sua finezza suggeriscono che ha una lunga vita davanti, anche se la sua grandezza è già evidente sin da ora, soprattutto se decantato per servire con selvaggina brasata.” -Joshua Greene
